This wood table was packed and boxed(table top down). It was put on a pallet before shipping where it was banded down and wrapped. The standard two inches all the way around the table in the box is a must. This is a cushion between the item and the box walls that may protect the item in the event of an accidental run-in with a forklift or some other object that can tear the side of the box. Styrofoam and hex board was put in at points between the item and the box walls to slow/cushion anything that may penetrate the outer wall.
